Any version of WMP on Windows XP or later isn't really a standalone software player as much as it's a frontend for Windows' native media capabilities. As such,
whatever version you have is going to be embedded quite deeply anyway as it's actually part of the OS.
That said, WMP11 has some really great features that 10 lacks, so you're really missing out by not upgrading. I use the former for playback and library management and have no complaints.
In any case, given the brand of your player, WMP11 would seem to be your only option - Philips is on of MS' primary PMP hardware partners.
