Full Version: Feurio! is deleting source MP3s

I'm using Feurio! v. 168 shareware because nothing else allows as much control over the space between tracks.

Yesterday, Feurio! started deleting my source (external) MP3 files. I thought it was happening when I deleted my project after burning. I see now that it's actually deleting the MP3 files or messing up the operating system's ability to locate the MP3 files when they are dragged into the track listing window. So, drag a MP3 into the track listing for a new project, and Windows can no longer locate the MP3. Feurio! is destroying the source MP3 when creating its WAV files.

Anyone know what causes the program to do this?

I just uninstalled & reinstalled the program. Feurio! stopped deleting/destroying my MP3s. I still don't want it to happen again, so I'd appreciate any insights the more experienced members can offer.

I can't understand why the developer just walked away from this program. It's the only program out there that offers manual control over the gaps between audio tracks -- nothing else does what Feurio! does. Why didn't he finish it?

How is it unfinished, or are you looking for extra features?

It's the only serious application(ripping or burning) I've used for audio CD in the last 5 years or more, never a bother on it.

didn't the guy sell his burning engine to NERO?

also, I thought he had some legal concerns around the time he quit developing it... not sure though.

I had this happen one time... can't recall what I did...

I think if you alias the files (don't remember if you can only do that with WAV or not) then delete the project it would delete the files you had aliased. I also tried to delete some wav files once after a burn (the wavs were temporary) and somehow fuerio also deleted all directories alphanumerically up to the my music folder in my documents... after that I stopped deleting from inside fuerio... don't know what caused it.

If you didn't alias (either because you didn't or you can't cause they're mp3 source) then that may not be the case...

I love the program but mostly use foo_burinate with nero essentials to burn audio cd's these days

I tried manually deleting the WAVs with Windows Explorer. That just pisses the program off, as it looks for the WAVs associated with the last project it made.

Maybe I can have it delete the project but not the WAVs? Then delete the WAVs manually? I'll try that next.

I set Feurio up to NOT delete any files. It deletes the project and just leaves the WAVs in its WAVE folder; I delete them when I need to.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't freak out on me again and start deleting my entire hard drive.

Feurio has some "nice" tricks up its sleeve, see here. But deleting MP3s.. didn't hear of that before.

Oh...I get it. You think I'm using some bootleg version of the software. Why do that when the trial version is free? Seriously...

No, I'm just using the trial version. And, yes, there is a bug in the software causing it to delete source MP3s. It doesn't matter if you have seen the bug yourself. I've seen it in action; I've had it delete MP3s I just bought online. Not the least bit cool.

You get around this by unchecking any option relating to deleting files--internal or external--during setup. This leaves WAV and OVR files behind after you delete finished projects. Delete those files manually with Windows Explorer.
