I've made a few changes to my foobar recently, and I can't figure out how to remove a track from the SCPL, but not delete it. I seem to remember that there used to be an option on the right-click menu to remove the selected track(s), but this doesn't seem to be the case anymore:

If I click delete, it actually deletes it from my computer (sends to recycle bin).

Also I've got a question about how the foobar library works too - I might try out the library filter in place of the SCPL, so I need to be able to use the media library properly (so far I've simply been using 'add file' and 'remove' directly from the playlists).

All of the music on my computer is in the 'my music' folder, and within that folder, I have a list of folders for my albums, and a list of single tracks.

I would like to have any new files that are added to 'my music' to be automatically added to the library if possible.
Also in the media library window in preferences, where you 'add folders' would it be best to just add 'my music' as a folder, or to add each album and track separately?
Is there a wiki or any other documentation I can refer to to about the foobar media library?

Thanks for any help with this smile.gif

Thanks, even better smile.gif

Any ideas about the media library questions?

You can also do that by choosing Edit -> Remove From Current Playlist from the context menu, but in the screenshot you linked it looks like you have to create this option in Preferences.

First off, adding parent directory ("my music" in your case will be better for you as you don't have to keep adding individual albums- anything in my music will be added).

You can't have it automatically add new stuff, but:
1. Adding the "new" songs/folder to your playlist will automatically add them to library too.
2. You can't really automate, but you CAN:
a. Put the "rescan media library" thing in your toolbar, and do it ocassionally (many people here seem to do it)
b. Use playlist_bind to "bind" a playlist to a folder (my music) in your case. you can have playlist_bind automatically refresh which would mean stuff gets added to the library.

hope that helps.

Go to Preferences -> General -> Keyboard Shortcuts, and find the command corresponding ot the Delete key (likely it's called NumDel, or something) - I'm guessing that that shortcut is set to something like "Delete file(s)"... ? unsure.gif If so, change it to Edit -> Selection -> Remove
