I don't know if anyone else is interested in this, but for me the Default UI offers everything I need for displaying playlists, and I would love to have it as a panel to use in conjunction with the album art and album list panels. Could someone give it a try?

Just make a columns playlist with one column, which contains the default ui code and hide the header.
