I started to notice the other day that my foobar occupies quite a bit of my RAM. So I wondered who the culprit was. Unfortunately foobar doesn't have a particularly easy-to-use way (other than simply deleting) of selectively disabling components to perform a comfortable binary search, and I won't bother you with posting a list of them all, so I humbly ask what popular resource-hungry plugins do you know?
Without advanced technical knowledge, strict test-environment, and something else than task-manager, you cannot get any useful measurements of how much ram various plugins use. Simple example (of many): just bump up the output-buffer, and you already get a significant change in memory usage, without changing any plugins.
From my experience these are the components that have a significant hit on memory/startup time:
* foo_browser
* foo_albumlist
* track info panels (especially if it's set to update too frequently)
PanelUI/SCPL configs usually use more ram than their uglier Column UI/Default UI counterparts.

I think this only works if people give examples.

My library at present has 50,006 items and I have about 8 playlists (4 of which are autoplaylists) open at a given time. Taskmanager reports the "Memory (Private Working Set)" as 33 MB. I found out that using foo_uie_explorer instead of foo_uie_albumlist results in a memory savings of about 5-6 mb for me, but it wasn't worth it from a usability perspective.

My foobar uses 980k when minimized and not playing. When the window is active and playing, it uses 13mb. I'm running foo_ui_panels's Track Info and Library Filter panels on columns, plus the Console and Album Art panels.
I've found that a large custominfo database delays foobar startup immensely as well.

I used fofr config for a while but it used 66 meg of RAM
I find that panels UI can sometimes cause alot of memory usage if I have a big layout with lots of images displayed.
