Illustrate has made a decision to enter the automated / commercial CD Ripping business in a big way, we are to offer automated (batch ripping) free for all Reference users. Normally automated ripping programs can cost $$$$, Illustrates aggressive pricing will ensure market domination.

Functionality

The program will cater enthusiasts with 2 CD drives and manual loading, to firewire 8 cd drive towers, to full blown automated robotic systems, let us reiterate the price once more: FREE for Reference users.

Uniquely, the design to access CD loaders will be open as possible, ensuring maximum compatibility with even the most obscure loader.

An end-to-end solution will be offered, from automated uploading of ripped audio tracks to iPods and other digital players, to HTML and printed catalogues, album cover art, quad core CPU systems are fully utilized, encode to multi-formats at the same time. Meta data will be supplied from an intelligent system of 3 of the top providers.

For the first time in this field a secure ripper is available for use (full C2 error support), also making use of the popular AccurateRip rip verification system, final users will see from the report if a file was ripped verified 100% without error.

When?

First beta test is expected to be in 8 weeks. Illustrate are in discussions with 4 of the major CD Ripping service companies, to ensure best possible implementation.

Please direct all discussions relating to automated CD loaders to this thread:

Pretty impressive stuff. Thanks for the info.

When you say it is free for Reference users: will it be free to only those users who own a Reference license before it is released?

Or after, basically you will get $4,000 of software for $28.

Cool, I hope your commercial customers will sent back the acquired data to the database! Maybe give them some "bonuses" or "benefits" if they do so, because it's a win-win thing.

Amen to that!

Thats VERY cool news. Hopefully this is even more incentive to implement the advanced meta data tool , which your competitor, in both home, and now batch ripping, Ripstation is implementing ;-) [ LINK ]

Is this going to be part of the R12.x series or R13? AKA, can we expect an R13 alph/beta in 8 weeks since there were no plans for major new features to the R12 series?

As a person who has purchased every release since R7 (really love R12) this is great news, and I am very happy to hear Spoon is doing so well with this project. dbpoweramp is one of those products that you just can't help getting all bubbly and ultra enthusiastic when trying to help somebody deal with digital audio in an efficient way. I also use foobar 2000. The combo of both of these products is pretty much killer imo

Perhaps you said that a bit too quietly, spoon...

No one else on HA is testing it? What a shame! smile.gif
