Hi guys. I've been using EAC along with Lame and FLAC for a year or two now, and I'm looking to re-rip my entire collection, some of which had previously been ripped with a mixture of less desirable programs and settings.

My predicament is that I would like to be able to encode to both FLAC (for archive and computer listening) and Mp3 (for my portable player) without having to rip the CD twice. I've tried having EAC leave the .wav files after encoding the first format, but this method results in empty ID3 tags for the second format.

Is there any easy solution to this?

Try using REACT. I'm using it do do exactly what you are talking about - FLAC and MP3 tracks. Read the wiki and related threads to avoid having to start over part way into your conversion.

Why not rip to FLAC, then afterward start a batch conversion of the FLAC files to make your MP3s?

Thanks Dave. React looks like exactly what I need. I should have some free time soon, and I'll give it a shot.
