I recently noticed, after the installation of iTunes 7.0, that the iTunes-LAME app I had in my script toolbar was not showing up anymore. It had previously shown up even though it's an .app and not a script. Its running in OSX 10.3.9, btw

Has anyone noticed this?
Did something change this in iTunes 7 to prevent this?
Is there a way to get iTunes-LAME to show in the iTunes menu and not have to go into the folder to open it? Was this app never intended to show in iTunes but did until the release of version 7?

I've noticed that too (also using 10.3.9). All I do now is just put iTunes-LAME in the dock for easy access. It still works exactly the same.

I just compiled iTunes-LAME 2.0.8, to test this, and seems to be able to reproduce with iTunes 7.3.2 on Mac OS 10.4.10. iTunes-LAME no longer show up in the scripts menu. So obviously something changed in iTunes, which break compatibility with iTunes-LAME (last updated in 2004).

I can only suggest you pick up the source code and play with it... wink.gif
CODE
svn co http://blacktree.textdriven.com/svn/iTunes-LAME/trunk/ iTunes-Lame

Yeah, the app has continued to work just fine. It was a trival question about whether it was possible to keep iTunes-LAME in the iTunes scripts folder and have it show up. I have only monkey-ed with codes superficially in the past, so I'll leave things as they are.

Thanks you both for your help! smile.gif
