This may actually apply to converting not only FLAC, but converting anything other than CD audio to MP3 using CDex...
When using the "Re-encode compressed audio file(s)" option, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get the resulting MP3 files as I want them. It seems that the MP3 files aren't being tagged with anything that's in the CDex interface tag fields (artist, album, track, comments, etc.). Also, the "filename format" field, where I specify the folder/filename structure is not being utilized (but this is probably due to the fact that this feature makes use of the CDex interface tag fields). It also appears that the metadata encoded in the FLAC files for artist, album, etc, is not transferring over to the MP3 header, but I had heard already that this would probably be the case.
If I rip tracks straight from CD to MP3, everything is wonderful with the tag and file structure information. Can anyone help me out? I guess if CDex is simply not capable of doing this I'll move on to something else. I've recently installed the latest Foobar2000 and I'm slowly working my way through its features. But I'm already very used to using CDex so if I can continue to do so I'd like to.
Thanks,
Greg
