Anybody made one? Aside from the ones I see in the distribution thread.

Is that the kind of thing you're after? i.e. black and glossy?

I am still putting some finishing touches to it at the moment.

Not bad at all! I guess I'm looking for something that uses transparency... but I guess I'm wondering if the way you'd use transparency would be at all different from the way its done in xp?

Make your own? smile.gif foobar2000 is about having your player made the way that fits your needs.

You can't really use transparancy in XP with PanelsUI. I think ColumnsUI offered it, but the entire window will be transparant - Also the panels.

Ah thanks. And if I wanted to/could design my foobar from scratch, I wouldn't be asking for others cfgs now would I tongue.gif

Usually I just get a nice looking cfg from someone else and make some minor changes if I feel it necessary. Most of my foobar tweaking (unintended) is spent figuring out why it's crashing; vista and foobar are friendly like that =D

Actually you can use Per Pixel alpha blending under Windows XP. This feature was introduced with Windows 2000 (layered windows). You need to use the UpdateLayeredWindow Win32 API call in order to do that, and also use GDI+ which will help a lot.
The only thing Vista brings to the table here is the blurred translucency (aka GLASS). This can be faked under Windows XP but it will perform very bad. This is one of the reasones Microsoft decided to use Direct3D to draw up the desktop. Regular 2D painting doesn't cut it anymore.

So are there ways of using vista glass in a foobar design then? ie. using the DWM API, like DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea()?
Edit: DwmEnableBlurBehindWindow() also creates quite a nice effect.
