I have some mp3 files that were created with iTunes v7.2.0.34. The Comment field has a hex insert that looks like this.

00000000 00000817 00000AE0 000000000027DE40 00000000 006CA93F 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000

I tried to remove them using several tag editors including Tag & Rename and Mp3Tag. They both appear to remove them. When I edit the File Properties with Windows Explorer a 0 will show up in the Advanced Comment field. When I remove the 0 and resave file and refresh the window, the hex insert is back like a bad rash.

When they reappear, you can again view them in the tag editors and again remove them. I am just not sure they are really gone. I even tried to write over the Comment field with zz's and then remove them again by blanking them. This also did not work.

It appears that this code is not really in the Comment field and that it is just being viewed there. What is going on here?
