Hi,

I use quite old PC now to play music , watch movie , surf web , etc . and now i want a little bit of speed.

My mainboard is pretty old. the only option i have is raise my FSB. and my MOBO can't lock PCI/AGP bus speed. But i used to raised 133 > 137 with no serious problem. but now i use 133 cause i read from somewhere that if PCI bus is raise. It may effect PCI device , and my concern is that my sound quality may effect as well. cause i use PCI soundcard.

So, if i raise my FSB. if there any affect for me to concern? (especially to sound)

no. unless your PC crashes or there suddenly is noticable noise issues your fine... but never heard of anyone overclocking and getting sound issues.

I love those questions.

To the OP question, no it won't degrade your sound quality.

However, I've owned motherboards whose onboard sound would have all kinds of problems if you tried to push the FSB too far. Everything from random clicks/pops/static, to simply not working at all. I've never had of problems with a PCI sound card though.

If you don't have a PCI/AGP lock usually the biggest concern is hard drive corruption.
