Full Version: does a male to male stereo (1/8" or 3.5mm) exist?

I've been googling this for a while and can't find one. I know they make these in a cable format, but I want a male to male stereo connector without the cable. Just a connector. I have a little portable stereo that I want to connect a very light mp3 player to it without having a long cable in the middle of the connectors. If anyone knows if these exist, I'd really appreciate the info.

Thanks! UtoteM

Yeah, they have the ones with the cable, which is what I've been finding on google. Can't find one with just a connector and no cable.

you might find it easier to buy a small length of cable and two plugs and make the cable as small as you can. You would end up with something as long as bout 2". Just an idea. Its what I would do because I don't think I could get the adapter your looking for anywhere where I am.

EDIT: after thinking about it more you get make a plug even smaller than 2" by hacking away at the plugs casing to get them closer together and just use a few tiny bits of wire to solder the corresponding collections. Cover the connections with some heatshrink or (electrical tape if you want to be cheap(er) ). You would end up with With a home made version what what your after, mind you it would look very homemade, but functional none the less.
