I've got a SlimX now and right now I've got all my CDs in LAME preset standard. When OGG support comes out for my player, I'd like to switch over to MPC standard. But first, I'd like to know how you guys do it. So, you got hundreds of files on your computer in MPC. How do you get them into OGG? There is no way I'm using the comand line to decode them all to wav, and then oggdrop or something every time I want to burn a new CD. What's the prefered tool?

Try Oggifier.

I don't understand..MPC is not part of OGG.
By the way, it's "Ogg Vorbis", ogg is the general container.
Do you intend to transcode from LAME to OGG (or MPC), or whatever??...
Or am i completely wrong?

I'm sorry, it's late and I'm not explaining myself...

Right now there is no format that will play on my portable player at a tiny bitrate that will offer me transperency. So, I've compromised. I store my music using MP3 because it's also what I want on my player. However, when I can get OGG support on my player, I would like to store my music in a format that offers the best archivability (is that a word?) and transcode to the format that offers me the best quality at a tiny bitrate. Is this how you mpc guys deal with mpc not being available in any hardware player?

And ogg is shorter. Since my GF is trying to sleep I'm keeping keystrokes to a minimum. tongue.gif
