are you using a UI config with foobar? It may be the font used by the skin that doesn't have non-english characters

I uses the font which has a dropdown menu under script and I choose "Japanese"... however, the text still display as garbage in the interface...

What do you mean my "garbage," a screen shot would probably be best.

Do these characters display properly in Properties window?

Here is a screenshot of the text problem. I used a font which support Japanese. but the text in the interface still can't show up correctly. It can display in the font window but not in the properties windows or the main interface of fb...

Does it work with other fonts? It could be a problem with the tags in your files. Try typing in the correct title/artist/whatever in the properties window and saving it to see if it's then displayed correctly.

What happens if you select another script in the font dialog?

Maybe the tag has to be written as UTF-8, not in the japanese codepage (Shift-JIS, ISO-2022 or any other). Check that.

It seems like the font are written in another encoding... I try re-typing the titles and they are now displayed correctly...Thanks everyone who tried to help me solve the problem smile.gif
