Hi,
After ripping most of my CD's to FLAC files on a 500GB hard disc, I now want to convert them all to wav files again!
As a DJ I intend to use a Denon DN-HD2500 player which can play either mp3 or wav with tags from an external hard disc (but isn't compatable with FLAC). The player reads wav tags (which can be added to wav files by programs such as Tag & Rename). - The tags really are essential to me as they are needed to sort by genre's, year and/or bpm, as well as artists and titles.
I have the FLAC front end, but this will only convert one folder at a time to wav, and won't produce wav's with tags.
I could use Tag & Rename to rename all the files to include all the tag info, but many tags contain charaters that can't be used in file names, such as " & /.
I've just purchased a new My Book 1TB drive for the purpose (<£170 from Amazon UK). How can I go about converting all my FLAC files to wav with tags (also keeping my file structure) with as much automation as possible?
DbPoweramp can create wav files with tags, and is very good for mass conversion.

now, i am confused. i thought the wav format had no tags ?
Wave files can have wave-list tags, they are perfectly valid and have been used for many years.

How can these wav-list tags been added/edited/viewed? Which applications care about these tags? Which tags are possible?
Top end audio editors tend to use these tags, Sony Soundforge, etc.
Tags are limited to pretty much id3v1, but can be any length, no unicode.

I'm using Tag & Rename to add tags to wav files.

I think Foobar is what you are after, it can convert whilst keeping tag information intact, did you want MP3 or WAV files?

Did a newer version of Foobar begin adding tags to wave files at some point?
I'm still using 0.9.4.2.

0.9.4.3 can't write tags to Wav files... as far as I know anyway. One of the two newest versions might though.
