is there a foobar.zip distribution without installer to download???

many times i get problems upgrading

i would love a zip file without installer


is there one ?

Download 7-zip and you can extract all the files from the installer without running it. Note: I haven't tried this personally, I've just heard that it works.

i have winzip & winrar and they don't open them
i will try 7-zip

i tried the command line but i did not extract it

if you use the Open archive menu item for 7-zip when you right click the installer, you can extract the files from the gui.

Yes it is.

i would say its a matter of preference, i like both winrar and 7zip. i would rate either choice better than winzip.

Could you be more specific on what kind of problems you get whilst upgrading?

I would also request to have a installer less distribution, just like VLC
Basically I don't want the registry, common-files directory etc getting filled.

Afaik, foobar2000 installation doesn't store any files elsewhere than under its base directory and doesn't change any registry entries apart from the obvious HKCU/Software/.../Windows/Uninstall key.

Please clarify. Making statements like this is not a very good idea.

This is pretty offtopic here. Compresses very good, handles rar and zip, works, is pretty wide spread. All in all: find out yourself, people.
