Full Version: What's a good audio measurement application ?

Hi,

from time to time I have to do audio measurements (analog and digital domain).
Since an audio precision system doesn't fit my budget and is probably overkill, I wonder if there are good applications for Mac OS X for use on my MacBook. The MacBook can run XP as well, so that could be an option too (Mac preferred though).
ASIO support would be required (?) to use external 192 kHz converters.

Your suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi, there is a freeware Windows program, Rightmark Audio Analyzer (RMAA) that may fit your needs.

For MacOS X there are two things in common use

Metric Halo SpectraFoo

Unfortunately rather expensive and

AudioFile Engineering Spectre

Which is considerably cheaper if it meets your needs.

ASIO is irrelevant on MacOS X these days unless you use Cubase as everything uses CoreAudio Audio instead.
