I tried searching the forum but didn't see anything to help me. I want to add songs from a different drive than my primary drive where my OS is installed. When I go to Add Files and narrow the file type to just mp3, files are added to the playlist just fine until between 450 and 475 files. 450 is OK, but at 475 no files appear in the playlist. Is there any limitation on the number of files that can be imported by Add Files? Because I have subdirectories that I don't want included, I don't want to use the Add Folder command. I think a 'recurse subdirectories' options in the Add Folder window would do what I want. Of course, if I'm the only one seeing this issue then it's not a problem.
Unfortunately, without going into technical details, there's a limitation to how much data can be returned by a standard Windows "open file" dialog. I suggest that you add your files to foobar2000 by drag&drop from Windows Explorer instead. Alternatively, if you happen to be running Windows Vista, you might have better luck with foobar2000 0.9.5 betas as they use Vista's new file dialogs if they're available, they're free of this issue as far as I can tell.
Thanks for the information Peter, no need for more details. I will install Vista soon and see what happens then. Thank you for the tip.
