Hi all

I am looking for a "multichannel HE-AACv2 Audio" encoder,we would like to know if u can provide us an encoder that can multichannel HE-AACv2 Audio streams.I have HE-AAC encoder which can encode 2 channel or single channel audio, but i am looking for ONLY "multichannel HE-AACv2" audio encoder in HE-AAC context
I would gratefully welcome help on Information regarding these.

I am also looking at software that can multiplex H.264 video with HE-AACv2 audio (including Multichannel HE-AACv2) and Ac3plus audio into a transport stream.

Can you please help me out in these

There is no such thing as multichannel HE AACv2, it only works for stereo

Hi
There isnt any "multichannel AAC" ??? I am sure there is multichannel AAC....even nero audio encoder says it can do multichannel aac,but doesnt explain the usage to be used to use in command line for Nero audio encoder(as nero audio encoder is a command line encoder tool)
Pls help

That's not what he said nor what you asked! You asked about multichannel HE-AACv2. That does NOT exist.

Multichannel AAC exists.

Thanks for clearing it up...
then can anyone please help me in multichannel AAC itself please.
(if nero audio encoder says it can do multichannel aac,but doesnt explain the usage to be used to use in command line for Nero audio encoder(as nero audio encoder is a command line encoder tool)
Does anyone know in nero audio tool context what is the usage in command line)

Any other tool can also please be suggested.

Thanks

You just throw a multichannel WAV-file against it, and it will be encoded to multichannel AAC (LC!)

Because you are limited to LC, there is no great advantage over AC3 (according to my own tests).

HE AAC also works

HE AAC also works

Yes. Just to clarify, there is Multichannel HE-AACv1, just not HE-AACv2. "v2" adds the parametric stereo tool which obviously wouldn't apply to multichannel sources.

is there any way to check that the file that has encoded into a HE-AAC multichannel is really encoded as multichannel..maybe its placed in some header(if so,can u pls tell me where exactly it could be indicated)...
because,if we just throw multichannel audio file in command line tool of nero..how do can we say for sure that all the 5 channels are used...to make into 5 channel multichannel aac...how to ensure this? as it is possible that the encoder would just take 2(stereo) channels from uncompressed multichannel wave and make a HE-aac audio....since this could be possible..is there any way to check that the file that has encoded into a HE-AAC multichannel is really encoded as multichannel
Also, when we speak of multichannel aac...how many channels are possible in uncompressed wave that the nero aac encoder that can take..and also how many number of channel support the standard provides..for multichannel audio...basicall...when we say multichannel aac,i want to know the range of channel numbers for the audio file to be considered as multichannel in AAC context.

Thnx

can anyone please tell me the usage of using command line nero encoder to encoder multichannel aac...please ...its very urgent

thanks

Simply take multichannel wav file, encode then decode back to wav and you should again get multichannel file.

But one small question i have is,is there some way to conform that the multichannel encoded AAC is infact coded as multichannel AAC in the syntax of AAC audio stream. Is their some indication in the "syntax of AAC" that tells that it is encoded as multichannel-AAC?

Thank u

As mentioned before, multichannel is v1. To save yourself a big headache, get Belight (you can find links on doom9.org) and use that to encode with Nero or CT.

Mkvtoolnix for MKV
mp4box + Yamb for mp4

AVI-Mux GUI is another option (can mux/unmux .avi and .mkv). Requires raw aac input though, no mp4 container support.

even though no multichannel HEv2 encoder exists... what should the decoder do if there are more than one SCE and implicit PS signaling applied?
menno
It's not a valid file. It's not specified what it should do, but I guess the most common way would be to report an error and stop decoding. I guess if you really wanted to you could make it output multiple channels. But then you're basically creating your own proprietary standard.

I am realy happy to get reply on my comments at last! Thank you Menno. Hope you're right, but it's not so clear to me. The only evedence of your words I found is in paragraph 1.6.6.2 of amendment

QUOTE

For all types of parametric stereo signaling, the channelConfiguration in the audioSpecifcConfig indicates the
number of channels of the underlying AAC coded stream. Hence, if parametric stereo data is available, the
channelConfiguration will be one, indicating a single channel element, while the parametric stereo tool will
produce two output channels based on the single channel element and the parametric stereo data.

But what does Table 1.11A stands for? Levels 4 and 5 allow upto 5 channels for HEv2 streams.

menno
HE AACv2 implicitly includes HE AAC and LC AAC, I guess.
