Full Version: Loss of settings and CPU hogging

There's been two bugs (I think) that have been bothering me for a while. One is that sometimes when I pause the song while playing a game or something, after a while it starts using lots of CPU. I think it's not 100%, but it's loads more than when playing normally. When I stop the song, hogging stops.

The other, more annoying, is that sometimes when starting fb2k, it says the configuration is corrupted. Sometimes I lose just the playlists, sometimes also the configuration. The playlists turn into "Imported playlist (00000002.fpl)" and have some of the songs, but some of the playlists are just empty. I think I might know the reason for this too... Sometimes my computer freezes and I have to do power cycle. However, the power button on this laptop is set so that when I press it once, it tries to go into standby mode, meaning it starts closing programs. So maybe it's because fb2k starts writing the settings, but power gets cut in the middle of it? Haven't had similar problems with any other program though.

Same problems have been with lots of versions, most recently with 9.4.3. I have removed the user_profiles_enabled file, I have Last.fm. Windows XP SP2, MSI Mega Book S271 laptop with AMD Turion 64 X2. Other components and stuff can be found from this crash log. (Which is unrelated to the problems, and it's with a newer version anyways.)

Used problematic components:

- foo_dsp_continuator (responsible for the crash)
- foo_audioscrobbler
- foo_ui_panels

The first two are playback-related and most likely causing the described problems.

Panels UI is known for crashes, too, as well as high CPU usage.

Delete or upgrade those components if possible, and report back if it should happen again.

Yeah, I was actually skimming through that list, but for some reason didn't notice those there... Well, updated/removed now. This will probably fix the CPU issue, but we'll see about the settings one. Usually when my explorer has died or something, I've tried to close foobar2000 before rebooting just to avoid the described problem, but from now on I'll try without doing that. Thanks anyways.
