Full Version: [NONSENSE] 0.9.5 "breaks" foo_uie_albumart

I think new foobar 0.9.5 is a spep in the right direction, giving it a better default ui. But in the moment 0.9.4.x is my first choice because of many reasons, primarily because of broken compatibility for some plugins in 0.9.5.
The new ui is in my opinion "nice" but there is no wow effect. Maybe next year when we get 0.9.6...

0.9.5 doesn't "break" components. You can still use panel-type components with 0.9.5 with Columns UI or Panels UI as you always have. The new default UI is incompatible with Panel-type components, but I have yet to see a component broken by 0.9.5.

It's important to not use ambiguous language.
Infernus
e.g oggcast plugin
Not tried it myself but I read in oddcast forum new beta3 crashes when adding dsps while streaming. Thats a reason why I doesn't upgrade yet. OK, maybe its to hard speaking about broken plugin compatibiliy at all, I said SOME! (dsp_crossfader also needed an update) On the other side the guy who develops the oddcast plugin isnt the fastest, there are some bugs in the foobar version which are commonly known but he never fixed it

Sorry, but you're wrong. 0.9.5 breaks compatibility with foo_uie_albumart if you try to change the preferences for album art sources, for example. Since 0.9.5 doesn't let you choose where to get your album art right now, that makes the component very desirable but it's broken now.

I've also noticed that not all keyboard shortcuts were removed. I think R and/or S without modifiers weren't removed, and maybe some numbers/numpad numbers too.

Also, it seems that color strings no longer work in Playlist View. It'd be great to get that back.

What kind of compatibility are you talking about?

foo_uie_albumart is a panel for Columns UI, and uses its own settings and methods to retrieve album art.

This has nothing to do with the Album Art Viewer in the new Default User Interface.

Yes it does. You can still use Columns UI in 0.9.5, but you can't use foo_uie_albumart without foobar crashing without opening.

You also can't use foo_uie_albumart in a Dockable Panel in the new Default User Interface either. So I'd call that "broken".
