Hey,
I'm developing a coverflow plugin at the moment, and I thought about making it really customizable by generating stuff from titleformat strings. That would be 3axes of rotation and 3 coordinates for every cover, every frame. With a framerate of 60/s and about 20 covers shown at once that would make: 6*60*20 = 7200 calculations per second.
This leads to my question: How fast are compiled titleformat strings? Is it resonable to do this, or doesn't the compiler prepare them enough to execute them this often?

thx for Information, Chronial

Performance doesn't matter in this case. The idea to use title formatting for vector math is completely retarded, no matter whether the scripts are hardcoded or configurable. Do not be surprised if a component that uses title formatting in this or a similar way will be banned from the forum.
