Hi, I have an album that has its cover embedded in the MP3 files, but when I use mp3tag to open the MP3 files, it doesn't display a cover for them. Yet when I'm using foobar2000 0.9.5 it displays the cover, how can I remove it?

Just out of curiosity, do you have a cover art (JPEG, BMP) file in the folder where your music files are at? Because I believe foobar reads that file.

Nope, not in the folder (and it's not hidden either)

Or you can use Metamp3, a command line utility in conjunction with any batch scripts that you can write.

I know that, the problem is I have some MP3's that have embedded covers but don't show up in Mp3tag.

Do they show up in the beta of foobar2000 0.9.5?

They might be stored inside APE tags. Make sure MP3tag is allowed to read both ID3v2 and APE via Extras --> Options --> Tags --> Mpeg.

Yes. Is there a way to remove the cover using the latest foobar2000 beta?

It's already set to read them, but the cover doesn't show up. I have tried adding a cover image and then removing it, but the original embedded image is still in the MP3. blink.gif

You can send me one of the files for analyzing.

I think it is in your folder where the file is kept and yes, it might be hidden as a system file (WMP does that). Try this.

In the Windows explorer, go to Tools>Folder Options. In the View tab, uncheck the Hide Protected Operating System Files option. Then go to the folder and see if there is a folder.jpg file.

Or there is another way to check. Try to save any pic as folder.jpg in the folder. If access is denied, that's your problem.

Oh, I hadn't realised that. Thank you! Now I found the album art
