Hi,

Very much sold on this software and I was like many a Winamp user.

The first problem I have had after many years started after one of my recent beta upgrades (that will teach me to stick to stable versions, I guess!) The problem is that I began to experience an enque bug in which each title would be added twice, such as:

04. Una Ramos - [Le Chant Du Monde #04] Notes De Feu
04. Una Ramos - [Le Chant Du Monde #04] Notes De Feu
05. Una Ramos - [Le Chant Du Monde #05] Nostalgies
05. Una Ramos - [Le Chant Du Monde #05] Nostalgies
06. Una Ramos - [Le Chant Du Monde #06] Hono
06. Una Ramos - [Le Chant Du Monde #06] Hono

I most recently installed the beta version: v0.9.5 beta 3 over other versions which when installed this problem began. I realise that this provides an infuriatingly low amount of information in regards to pinpointing the beta version origen of this bug, and apologise for that detail. It started a few beta versions before this recent update. Nevertheless I wanted to add this comment in order to get feedback regarding the problem, which is quite clear. I have seen the problem reoccur up to the most recent beta version, and am thinking that perhaps I would be best off to completely remove and reinstall foobar with the latest stable version to see if I can eliminate it.

This problem has been duplicated on several computers, 2 of them utilizing home xp (latest 'updates' smile.gif ) and xp pro sp1. One system has 1 gyg of mmory, another 528mg, another 386mg. Cpus range from 3.8 to P2 450. I don't know if browsers interact in some way with foobar interface but I utilize Opera-IE6-IE7-flock(with most unnecessary garbage disabled). DirectX9c installed, all systems quite clean.

Thanks again for the great software and any feedback or suggestions regarding this would be appreciated.

Does this happen at adding individual files or at adding a whole directory?

Does this happen at adding individual files or at adding a whole directory?

A good question.

It happens when I am adding folders, and or multiple directories.

An added note: I have since downloaded and installed the v0.9.5 beta 3 version of foobar2000. It is possible that the bug stopped after this installation, but probably a bit more time may be necessary to confirm that. And I have only been working with one of my computers (The one with WIN XP PRO Sp1 P2 450mghz Directx9c) so this would relate to that unit. I will look at my other installations to see the version of foobar2000 in a free moment to see if this offers any useful clues.

Is there a cuesheet in these directories?

If yes, the files referenced in that cuesheet are also enqueued in addition to the actual files which might explain the duplicates.

I have the same problem. There are no cue sheets in these folders.

Files:
D:\MP3\Piet\Anouk - Good God.mp3
D:\MP3\Anouk\Anouk - Good God.mp3

Hopes this helpes.

These are two different files.

If I add one, the other one gets added to.

I just select one from the album list and drag it to the playlist and both files get added instead of one.

(0.9.5 Beta8)

You have to set your album list view to "by folder structure" if you want your individual files recognized within the album list.
guidorobben
If I set the view to "by folder structure" it works. But why doesn't it work if I chose album.

After looking at your comment I tried to find the reason why it adds 2 items. I notices only one entry of "good god" in the album view.

Is it so that the database links both files to the same treeview item? If that is the case, I would like to see that it generates 2 treeview items instead of one. Or have a option to do so.

Sometimes I have multiple version of the same album. I would like to have a choice which song is added to the playlist.

Sometimes I have multiple version of the same album. I would like to have a choice which song is added to the playlist.
Then you have to use a titleformatting string that differentiates between the different tracks.

For example you can copy the entry for "by artist/album" at 'Preferences > Media Library > Album list' and append '('%_path%')' to get file-specific entries in the album list.

No, I do not utilize cue sheets. This problem only takes place when I right-click to add an album.

I have to be honest with you and say that my lack of information detailing the exact version (although I would be referring to the more-recent beta versions) of foobar this incident would involve, annoys me. I do not want to waste your research time trying to hunt down a bug that may exist in one beta or another.

In relationship to that detail I may have some good news to report. Since I installed the absolute most-recent beta of foobar, this phenomenom of double-additions in cue has not been seen. smile.gif

Checking my foobar which is currently in function I see that it is version "v0.9.5 beta 3".

I hope that this is good news for you.

Thanks Again... Merry Christmas !

PS... A small side comment. Does foobar borrow gui support from installed browser support on a user's computer in any way? If that is the case I should inform you that all of my computers have installed at least one inevitable version of IE (either 6 or 7) as well as the most recent Opera and Flock (with any reporting mechanisms possible disabled.)
