Full Version: Perfect CD-Extra copy of an AudioCD

Hi!
I have an AudioCD which I ripped with EAC to a .flac file with an embedded cuesheet. I then converted them to AAC, so I can use them on my PSP (of course I still have the .flac). Now I want to make an AudioCD with a (of course 'perfect') copy and the .mp4 files appended to it.

I tried Plextools Professional XL 3.13:
-loaded the FLAC to the AudioCD Maker - it nicely split it into tracks
-clicked start and disabled 'Finalise Disc' in the dialog
-burned it
-opened Disc Maker
-selected 'Continue MultiSession' project
and now I don't know what to do: I get a dialog with Session 1 and my audio tracks and it wants me to select a track but at the bottom there is this hint: "Audio tracks cannot be used to continue the disc."

I downloaded the newest version of Nero Burning ROM (I use ImgBurn, but it lacs the capability of MMCD's)
-selected the CD-ROM project
-selected 'Continue Multisession Disc'
-it wants me now to select a track, but an Audio track can't be selected sad.gif

So I tried EAC 0.99 pb3
-expanded the .flac to a .wav, got the cue sheet
-loaded the cuesheet to EAC
-Write CD..., then selected Close Mode: 'Leave CD Open'
-burned it
same problem again - neither Plextools nor Nero allow me to continue this CD.

Is there any way to do it right? (except for using Nero CD-Extra project, which won't make the use of offsets).

I found this: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....w=&st=&
but unfortunately I don't know how to do it - i don't see any option for burning another session.

After you have burned the audio part of the CD, create a new project with your files, but don’t try to continue a multisession CD. Just create a standard project as if you were writing on a new CD. Then insert the previously burned CD. Should work, I did it some years ago with Nero 5.

Google up "Audio and Data CD" and I have found more than a few sites with programs that claim to do this... normally I'd test them out since I am a freeware junkie but... I have enough problems on my system I need to iron out.

Thanks for reply. Nero 8 refused to burn it - it wanted to erase my CD-RW. But CDRWin 4.0 done it well - just tested it with IsoBuster and there are two sessions indeed so I finally have a CD conforming to the poor man's version of Blue Book smile.gif. Now i will look for some freeware to do this.

I'm still using Nero 6, but I fail to believe that things have changed that radically.

You can create a mixed mode CD by choosing "Mixed Mode CD" or "CD Extra". Both templates allow you to add audio and data items at the same time.

I still use Nero 5.5 and I don’t like the Mixed Mode/CD Extra profiles, because Mixed Mode writes the files in front of the audio data, which confuses some CD players: They play the data track as a regular audio track, so you have to skip the first track. Some of them play silence instead of the data track, some of them play a loud noise. And the CD Extra profile in Nero adds unwanted, undeletable folders and files.

I use this method and it works OK. You need EAC and Nero.

1) Audio part: EAC

. Tools --> Write CD-R
.- File --> Load CUE Sheet
.- CD-R ---> Write CD-R
.- Close Mode --> Leave Cd open

2) Data part: Nero

- Run Nero Burning Rom
- Select "New", then create a "CD-ROM (ISO)"
- Select "Multisession" tab and check "No Multisession"
- Select "ISO" tab and set "Data mode" to "Mode 2 / XA" and "File system" to "ISO 9660 + Joliet"
- Select "Burn" tab and set "Write method:" to "Track-at-once" and check "Write" and "Finalize disc (No further writing possible!)"
- Click on "New" button

- Drag-and-drop the data files.
- burn ! (select "Yes" on the warning message... )

Thanks! I have omitted the write method: Track-at-once - now everything works fine. And I have a question about the data mode - which Form of Mode 2 will be used? Because I prefer to use the one with better error correction.

EDIT: Solved. It's Form 1 so it's OK.

Nice instructions smile.gif Perhaps it should be added to the wiki? I always wondered how to make perfect copies of Enhanced CDs.
