Hi Guys,

I hope I am in the right Forum and you may help or, please, point to right place to visit with the following request. Thank you.

My question is about the latest Real Alternative v1.7.
I never experienced problems with any previous versions of it.

This time I did clean reinstall of:
- K-Lite Codec Pack (full);
- QT Alternative Lite (full version was used in the past);
- Real Alternative Lite (full version was used in the past);

All media tested in players and browsers. No broken Codecs. Checked with Sherlock Codec Detective & GSpot.

Only one thing went wrong:
- as soon as I am trying rm file playback from Media Player Classic it crashes.

I uninstall the Lite one and installed full Real Alternative.
That didn’t help.
The image of a crash attached (see P.S.).
In addition:
- when testing rm file with GSpot it shows correct properties but in test #2 the Cue slider moves bu there is no sound.
- Sure I can play this file In VLC, Korean Player (both don’t need codecs installed).
Playback in Super Player is fine too.

Any help and ideas are highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

My regards

The first thing that I would do would be to run memtest.

Hi dreamliner77,
Thanks for replying.
Memory is fine. Tested despite the computer is pretty much young - 5 months old.
(and I am running soooo many progs here and some of them very memory hungry.
I think that I would've "noticed" smile.gif other crashes.

It seems that there is a new version of Real Alternative which has downgraded libraries. Maybe those are causing the problem.

There's an upgraded version 1.75 out, maybe you should try this new version instead.

Hi Enig123,

Thanks a lot. That new 1.75 fixed it!
... it was a bug there and I was suspected that as much.
But I would never look at the site the next day for the newer version... three days from now..., probably smile.gif

Uninstalled full one, cleaned the Registry, installed "New Lite"one (that's what I wanted to try in a first place)... Smooth!
Just icons for .rm are hijacked by Windows Media Player mad.gif , which I never use ??? but other than that - fine.

Much appreciated

Late in the thread, but 1.70 was broken. That's why they released 1.75 with rollbacks.
