Full Version: Batched way of Ripping, making APE and MP3 in one pass

Hi Guys,

New User, First ever post.

BTW, This has been a great forum to learn about Ripping, Encoding, Archiving etc.. some great minds here helping others.

My quest is not too complicated. All I want to do is something that I'm very happily doing in two steps.
Which is to RIP my CDs and create two copies ... one lossless ( APE ) and the other MP3 (using LAME ).

I can get one done or the other in EAC on one pass but have not figured out on how to manage that in one pass.

Batch ( or Script ):

Once I have EAC open and Insert a New Audio CD.
The batch will do the following.

Auto Select all of the Tracks from the Album.
Start to RIP one song at a time and once the
first song is Ripped. It calls out the APE module
to convert the WAV into APE to do simple lossless
conversion. And once that part is done then the
LAME module kicks in and starts to do its part on
that same WAV file and once the MP3 is complete
the WAV file is deleted. I would like to keep as much
of the album detail in the APE format like TAGS to
the FreeDB database TAG. just in case I need to come
back and use it again to rename or encode them again.

I know it sounds like a simple task that I could have
done in a simple batch/script file ... but how does one
go about doing this from command-line interfaces of
these programs to tie them all up.

EAC, LAME, APE

Thanks in advance,

HSP

Check our REACT or MAREO. Both can do what you want easily.

Both are used in conjunction with EAC, as an external compressor, to perform multiple actions in one process.
