EDIT: It is possible to edit poll? I mean remove "JabberWana" and add "Gabber" instead.

Rival is very nice. Anyway since i barely ever use messengers i just use Miranda because it's so light and good and i just need ICQ for a few people smile.gif. I checked out Jabber a long time ago, and LOVED it, it beats ICQ, MSN,, and anything.
Important: If you intend to use Miranda use the "nightly build", soon enough there will be a new stable version (read 28th november news)

There is a Jabber plugin for Miranda as well: http://www.au.ac.th/~keh/miranda/

I've seen this plugin, never used it though (because people don't wanna switch from icq smile.gif..). There are many plugins for Miranda, for MSN protocol as well for example, hey, try it people, Miranda is really light and cool smile.gif.

PSI is simply the best!

I have been using MyJabber for quite a long time. I have tried many others. But MyJabber just seems more stable and it does everything I need.

You can 'transport' icq, msn (what else there is?) accounts to jabber, I believe.

BTW is there a feature to ping hiding buddies (seems that 'copy ip' doesn't work in miranda plugin)? Just curious...

You know. As braodband connections become more common more and more people are going to want to do voice over IP. Some IM clients incorporate this already. The Jabber protocol and framework are undergoing a standardisation process to be the future of collaborative IM systems. Perhaps the Vorbis or Speex devs more importantly should contact them on this subject and get either one or both of them included as part of the future standard? Couldn't hurt could it?
