Full Version: Automation of Speaker Setup?

Guys, I wanted to know if any of you are aware of a tool that can automate the changing the speaker setup based on profiles or applications?

When I'm in a game I'd like to be set to Stereo Headphones but outside of that have it set to 5.1 Surround Speakers.

As it is now it's a royal pain to keep changing between them so I end up leaving it set for headphones.

There must be a better way.

Well.... I know of a program called WinBatch (~$100 USD) that can automate almost anything on the computer by automating keystrokes & mouse clicks. But, it's probably not worth the cost & effort. It's uses it's own little programming language, so if you've never done any programming before, it might be difficult to learn. (Once you've got your program written, you can run the automated procedure with a mouse-click... Kinda fun to watch!)

You might want to search for "Windows Automation Software" to see if you can find a similar free utility. When I bought WinBatch (several years ago) the free programs were not good enough for my application, but things may have changed.... I just found one called AutoHotKey... it might be worth a try.
