Hey. I was in the market for hi-fi headphones, and have tentatively narrowed it down to these two. If anyone has any personal experiences with both, that would be fantastic, but reviews from either would be great. I will use an amp (HeadRoom Micro), and I generally listen to classical and electronic, if that factors in.

Also, input on the actual make of the two (IEM v. circumaural cans) would help. I've had good and bad experiences with both formats, so comfort is a big issue with both.

Also, if anyone's got any advice for comparable phones, that's more than welcome.

Thanks in advance

I've got a pair of the Beyerdynamic DT-880's. Sound quality is very good, but since I don't own a pair of Shure se530's, I can't compare the two.

I wear the DT-880's 8-10 hours a day. They are definitely comfortable - certainly more comfortable than the AKG 240M's they replaced.

The DT-880's don't have a lot of noise isolation (being semi-open headphones) which is a big disadvantage over IEM if you are in a noisy environment.

I can second this, have a 880 at work and an old 990 at home, both comfortable, and I personally
dislike the In-Ear variants...
However, if your budget allows it, I would propose the Sennheiser HD600, more comfortable then
the 880 for me, also (subjectively for me) better sound quality, but probably more expensive...
Good luck with the decision.
