I have multiple installations of foobar2000 on various computers and I use somewhere in the area of 16 to 20 components on average. If I'm not mistaken it is possible to use only 3 components, although I have never tried.
This is mostly just a curiosity poll. I saw a crash report in another thread and the user had over 50 plugins loaded and I was wondering if that was normal among the average foobar2000 user.
I have 18 installed but I only use about 10 of them on a regular basis.

Components as in 3rd party components, or all components even the ones included in the installer?

Many of the components included with the installer are optional, too.

I suppose I should have been more specific. Even the installer allows you to pick which components to install, but even if you deselect all of the optional components in the installer, I believe there are only 3 components installed unless I'm mistaken. Basically the question is just how many components are in your foobar2000 component folder (or directory) that are loaded when you run foobar2000.

I have two installs of foobar, one with 29 components and the other with only 2 components: foo_input_std and foo_ui_std. I think you can run fb2k without foo_input_std, but you aren't able to listen to music.

I have 65 installed components, I'm shifting constantly from different panels.ui configurations (i.e: foodark, fooamarok, footunes, I-foo, fooflow, fooradecke, fooelite, fooltmam, foofr) and defaul user interface, all in one installation, all working fine. It's incredible!!

25 components here.
Most of them are inputs and utilities. There are a few that I practically never use - for example, CD audio input or Album List - but they're there just in case (e.g. many layout presets have the album list and it's ugly to see large empty spaces when I'm browsing through them); and there are a few that would be nice, but don't exist (yet?) (a good wavetable midi input plugin preferably with soundfont support, or an adlib music plugin).
Not much UI or visual things, only facets - I like to keep my foobar lightweight and I found the new default UI very usable.

35. My latest finding foo_utils_playback (playback order per playlist, highly welcome here) - in combination with foo_rg_trn (replaygain playback mode per "playback order") a winning team
