I recently noticed really poor sound quality coming from Foobar. I specifically notice it when using my Sennheiser HD595 headphones. For comparison, I played the same mp3s on my Mac using itunes, on my PC (Running vista ultimate 64) using itunes and also using Windows Media Player. When I play a song with Foobar, it's a tad muffled, bassy, and not as bright as all of the other media players. The other noticeable thing is the reduced soundstage in Foobar. Music sounds a lot "wider" and "fuller" when played in itunes and windows media player. Now, I've fiddled with my sound card options and with foobar options and can't seem to rectify the issue. I'm aware of foobar's reputation as a high quality audio player, but I can't seem to get it to work as such right now. Is there anything I can try specifically to make my foobar sound good?
