this used to be easy enough. now it wont work. is it the new version? i cant for the life of me figure out how to get my foobar off my old computer. this is what i tried:
install fresh foobar on new comp.
copy old foobar folder over new one.
run exe.
it asks me to choose columns ui or default. both options lead to a blank, unmodified foobar.
oh and i tried making an fcs. all it did was make the background of the columns ui layout a custom color. ?!?

Your settings are apparently not stored in the program folder, but in your Windows user profile.

1. Determine the location of your configuration files at Preferences, General (click "Open Folder").
2. Copy this folder from the old computer to the new one. Make sure to store it in exactly the same location.
3. Set the "Location of configuration files" setting at the new computer to "user profile folder".
4. Restart foobar2000.

aha! never noticed that prefs setting before (is it new?)-- but actually, i have always installed foobar for 'all users', and so naturally all of my settings were in the application folder. maybe this is a bug? because when i went to the option in the preferences (on the new computer install), it was back on a single user. i am certain i installed it with the other option because i tried installing it at least three times before posting here. weird. anyway, it worked! thanks so much. biggrin.gif

Installing for "all users" means that each user can independently use the program, which means settings have to be stored in %appdata% (Windows user profile).

'all users' = 'per user settings'?... dry.gif
ahhh anyway, at least it works now! smile.gif
