I've been using WinLAME for years and I think it's one of the best programs for making mp3s.
Just lately I've been looking around and experimenting with AAC encoders and found this forum post to a test version of WinLAME - http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=22143
This makes good AAC files however it lacks the ability to rip Audio CDs which is a useful feature that was added to WinLAME Pre2+.
Now I have WinLAME pre4 installed and I cannot find any options for AAC encoding / decoding despite the website's claims for supporting it.
Having checked the Pre4 and B2 versions it seems Pre4 (including Pre3) lacked 2 DLL files libfaac.dll and libfaad2.dll so I copied them over.
After running WinLAME Pre4 I got the AAC setup window just fine however any attempt to start encoding the program just hangs.
So my question is where is the ACC support for WinLAME Pre4 and was there a reason not to include these DLL files??
cheers,
Richard S.
