Full Version: MID to WAV conversion: 8 channels instead of stereo

Hi,

I'm using FB2K 0.9.5 with foo_midi.dll plugin and a VST (Roland Virtual Sound Canvas).
When I try to convert a .mid file to a .wav file, the output has 8 channels and further conversions (to .mp3 for instance) lead to a non playing file (a too much long track full of noise).

I tried several DSPs (channel mixer with 2 channels output) without success...

Any idea where to troubleshoot?

Thanks in advance,
JS

You cannot convert MIDI file in that way. The only thing you can do is to capture the output of the VSC. On my system it can be done through ASIO

try http://synthfont.com

Oooh... OK
By "capture", you mean record in real-time with a third-party software, don't you?

Out of curiosity, have you got an idea about the origin of the issue (if one can consider it as an issue)?

Anyway, thanks for the quick reply.

Thanks!

I really have no clue why is that happening.
That's right, I'm using Audition as an ASIO host for that.

You can use SynthFont for conversion, but it's not going to sound exactly like on a Sound Canvas. wink.gif

I just looked at the software. It seems able to use VSTi but it will be hard for mass-conversion... sad.gif
