Hi,

Is there any software you guys can recommend to check the ID3v2 tags of a MP3 file?
Most tagging software and stuff hide the real field names by using labels and stuff... I need something that gives me a total RAW look of the tags in a MP3, for purposes of testing fields and cover art that is not showing etc..

PD: I use foobar as media player, but for instance, it won't show the cover art field = worthless for me.

I agree with you, that I'd like foobar to show things like embedded art, lyrics and all the ID3 tags that are NOT mapped. All custom fields are showed though. You may take a look at the tag mapping wiki to see which fields shows up with useful names.

I use Florian's anytag lister plugin for Total Comander. I'm very satisfied with it, but it won't tell you if the file has embedded art.

There is also a tool from Tycho, metamp3. Readme says that it can read ID3v2.4 tags, but in my tests it listed them as v2.3 and couldn't display any content. It just listed the frames.

Cosmo, seems like that Extended Tags dialog is what I needed... to bad it won't display the name of the cover field (who would think such a stupid thing was so damn hard to display... I'm totally shocked), but well... at least it tries to load it so I can see what has and what not. Still looking for something that shows me the name of that cover art field, but I guess the only way is using some library from sourceforge and code the thing myself... yikes.
