Just found this site today. Great one too!

I found this forum after having some problems with EAC and was able to sort them out thanks to the great support that this board offers. Kudos to those who take the time to post very useful information!

I'm having a few problems with WMP9. Why when I play an mp3 does it always write the IDV2 tag? I've disabled as many options as I think will solve the problem, but no success. For obvious reasons I don't want to use IDV2 tags..

I use Tag&Rename to write IDV1 tags and want to leave it at that.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Under the "Tools" menu, select "Options". Click the "Media Library" tab. Uncheck "Update my music files (wma and mp3) by retrieving missing media information from the internet".

That's it smile.gif

NumLOCK, don't worry mate, it's not the end of the world. A bit annoying is all. wink.gif

SNYder, thanks for the tip. I've disabled that option already and WMP9 still writes the IDV2 tags. Does it not do that on your system? I've tried unistalling/re-installing but the problem persits...

Any other suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Don't worry, I survived B)

Sorry if I overreacted.. but nonetheless, having my personal files modified without prior warning would be MUCH more than an annoyance to me rolleyes.gif
I mean, where is it gonna stop ? blink.gif
