I'm after a free program that will list both artist and album of all my mp3's
Since my music is sorted with folders, and ID3 tags it can be done either way

I'm after a list that would look like this;
[artist] - [album]

!!! - !!!
!!! - Live! Live! Live!
!!! - Myth Takes
-----------
You Am I - The Cream & The Crock [Disc 1]
You Am I - The Cream & The Crock [Disc 2]
Zwan - Mary Star of the Sea

Anyone know of anything?

I'm pretty sure with Winamp you could arrange the title tags to be displayed that way and then export the playlist as a webpage and open it in a browser.

QUOTE (Original Post)
FB2K can copy playlists in such a fashion. Preferences > Advanced > Legacy Title Formatting Settings > Copy Command > Change it to "%artist% - %album%"

After actually thinking about your post, I realize the scope of your task. If the disc has a single artist then this process is inefficient as you would see duplicates. Easy way around that is to use only the first track of each album and set instead %artist%, use %album artist%... a minor additional step.

If you want to view it with the multiple artists that make up the album... then the previous method doesn't work...

Sorry, FB2K may still have what you are looking for, but damned if I know how to accomplish it.

thanks, Probably will try winamp since I'm more after plain text rather than a playlist
SamHain86
You just highlight the list and Copy Names. It copies right into the playlist.

Now, I remember the winamp feature (as mentioned before) that would output to HTML... there's gotta be a function similar for FB2K... gotta be. I am going to check out for one to satisfy my own curiosity.

You can also try using the command prompt with piped output. Just cd to your music directory root and type this:

CODE
dir /ad /b /s > list.txt

This will create a file called list.txt in the root directory with the list of all directories inside.
