Yes, it's here, the new oggdrop, soon to be had at: http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/ tongue.gif

Actually, if you downloaded from Roberto's site in the last 20 hours, you probably already have it.

I have uploaded it to Roberto in all 7 colour options!!biggrin.gif

So, give Roberto a short time and then go get it!!

Enjoy,

Done! It's already there.

Nice. Now If I can only find an OGG GUI that can ill in tags based on a preset WAV naming convention I would be a very happy person.

The new Oggdrop has improved but there is still some room for improvement.

1. Nominal bitrate should be shown at the slider bar window while you are making the quality value selection. Change the bitrate-select window into a text field (uneditable) which updates with the nominal bitrate as you move the silder bar.

2. Hide average bitrate selection to somewhere newbies can't find it. E.g. and advanced bitrate control options window.

I hope Chris Wolf sees this and considers....

Man, is he fast or WHAT??? Seriously, remember how tricky it was to get current binaries before Roberto started his site?

Thanks a lot, layer3 smile.gif

Just to prove that wink.gif Ivan released today another AACenc - still V. 2.01. I don't have a clue on what changed, but it might be a good idea to go take a look at it.

Especially for Tangent:D Yet another oggdrop.wink.gif

Rather than wait - I did it my way!!(hehe). I like your suggestions. I have made a quick implementation of your first idea. You can find it soon at: http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/

Give me a little time to think about the other.

It's now there, in the link to Oggdrop - color scheme 1.

And still more cosmetic improvements!biggrin.gif

The full colour set soon to had at Roberto's site (see above).

I expect there will be a further update to take bitrate selection onto a separate dialogue with Min and Max options as well as nominal. Just a little more time, please!!

Already Uploaded!

Thanks very much. I was about to ask for that smile.gif

I should add, as has just been pointed out to me by Chris Wolf, that the nominal bitrates for the quality settings are only true for 44.1khz stereo samples. For anything else they will be incorrect. I am not sure if that can be addressed. but I will take a look.

Ok, soon to be found at: http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/ the latest incarnation of oggdrop.

It takes account, I think, of all the suggestions from tangent (thanx wink.gif ) and does pretty much all you could expect from it. BTW, the min/max options work as they are supposed to, according to the documentation, and '0' is the default setting in all boxes.

Anyway, it will be available at Roberto's site soon in all 7 colour options.cool.gif

Enjoy!

Overall, very well put together. Nice to see the nominal bitrate change as you adjust the slider on "encode parameters." But this isn't fully correct. Below -q 4.0, the nominal bitrate that shows up as you adjust the quality slider is incorrect. It gives the following nominal bitrates:
-q 3.0 --> 96
-q 2.0 --> 64
-q 1.0 --> 32
-q 0.0 --> 0.0

when the true nominal bitrate for these settings are:

-q 3.0 --> 112
-q 2.0 --> 96
-q 1.0 --> 80
-q 0.0 --> 64

The correct nominal bitrate shows up on the main oggdrop interface, beneath the rotating fish. But it would be good if the correct values corresponded on the quality slider reading.

Thanks for the continued work. I'm using oggenc now for most of my encoding, but oggdrop was extremely helpful when I was more newbie than I am now. I think that oggdrop's user-friendly idiot-proof?) design may aid the format in catching on with the general public.
john33
Yes, you're right. It was correct until the routine got tidied up!!!:mad:

I'll correct it poste haste. Thanx for pointing it out!!

Sorry for the delay, here. I have been trying to upload to Roberto for the last hour or so, but my SMTP host has been f**ked. It seems to have come back now and I am hoping this will complete while I finish this post.

Not good news, there still seems to be a problem in uploading. I will keep trying and come back to this when it is done.

Finally got themuploaded to Roberto @ 22:45. So they should be there whenever he gets to update his site. Again, sorry for the delay.
rjamorim
The files are already available at my page.

thanks, John33. This could be the official oggdrop if no bugs are found.
