Full Version: Easy way to batch edit user fields in FLAC files?
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Lossless Audio Compression > FLAC
Tirade
I noticed that the Album Artist field on a lot of my FLAC files would appear blank in certain taggers/players. The culprit seems to be that T&R is/was using %ensemble% instead of the more widely accepted %album artist%.

So I have 2 questions:

1. Is there a way to batch edit all the tags to rename %ensemble% to %album artist%?

2. A few players/programs only recognize %band% as the correct album artist field, is there a way to batch add the %band% filed using the data from the %album artist% field after I complete step 1?

This can be done in foobar.

Right-click > Select "Tagging" > Select "Manage Scripts"

This brings up a box where you can add actions to perform

Click "Add" > Select "Copy Value"

With this you can copy the value from ENSEMBLE to ALBUM ARTIST. You can also copy the ALBUM ARTIST value to BAND.
