DAC manufacturer thinks it's because the PC is outputing multichannel digital, and this DAC can only accept stereo digital. I have another DAC that works fine.

My question for this forum is: how can I control the configuration of the PC digital output? ASIO4all tells me the output is in "running" state, and is 8 channels / 32bits / 192KHz, but I can't find any controls either in any system control panel, or my sound card control panel, or in iTunes or WMP that would let me force a 2-channel 44.1KHz output.

I'm running XP SP2 on ASUS M2N32SLI with ADI 1988 Soundmax version 6310.
