hello all. so i have this dualdisc that i'd like to rip. unfortunately dualdiscs aren't manufactured according to redbook standard as most of you know, so i'm not able to rip the audio cd side. i can however rip the same audio from the dvd side, which is in enhanced stereo 48khz. this is great, but i'd like to put this audio to cd. now, i have tried burning the 48khz wavs onto a audio cd using eac. i then re-ripped the tracks and found they'd been automatically down sampled by eac (i know down sampling is mandatory for a audio cd). so i can do it this way, or i can use ssrc to down sample. or, i could just use winamp's diskwriter tool to downsample. so basically i can use a variety of different methods. my question is, is there any specific method that would yield better quality than others for this purpose? do all of these programs do it the same way? i'm a nutty audiophile and i'd like to make sure there's no degrading going on (besides the fact that we're going from 48 to 44 khz). thanks guys.

I'd go with SSRC. I don't know how EAC and Winamp do their 48->44 conversions. I DO know that SSRC is generally considered a very high quality converter. Basically, you just can't go too far wrong going with SSRC for this.

? I haven't had a problem doing that. Nor ever had problems playing the CD side of a dualdisc. Don't know if I just got lucky, but I suggest you try a different CD drive.

Or get DVDAExplorer and rip the DVD-Audio tracks wink.gif

Yeah, I have a very old drive (made in 1998, not sure of brand) and my Sony AW-G540A can read Dualdiscs. But my Cyberdrive CW088D and LG GDR8168B can't read the CD-side of Dualdiscs at all.
