Is there a way to print my album list - just the name of each album and its artist - but not song titles, years, etc.?

foo_utils has a text tool which should pretty much do what you want.

The "problem" would be that it would list list the artist and album once per each track...

You could test if the zero-padded tracknumber is equal to 01, and print the artist and album only if the tracknumber matchers.
