This is another assembly programming masterpiece by kb, a high quality audio mixer with 11 built in tracks, full effects engine, reverb, chorus, cutoffs, etc, a 16bit colour GUI, a diskwriter, volume control, progress slider, all in 64kb, that the same amount of RAM as a C64.

The first tune is bit bad, but the others, if you give them chance are really impressive, when you consider the quality, effects, and size of this application. Look at whats going on and think about it. You could not squeeze even the midi data from one track into 64kb.

Their work still stand for proof, that today 99% of software is bloated and inefficient. Just try to lower windows's hardware acceleration slider, then you can fairly compare microsoft routines running on a 1400MHz rig, with their asm routines on 386 machines.

This leads me to believe that in windows's GUI, about 98% of CPU cycles are wasted. This is not uninteresting, when you know the power consumption of today's Pentiums..

Anyway, they made great achievements in graphical effects too (not only 3d !!). It's a bit thanks to them, if we now have bump mapping, perspective-correct texture mapping, 24bit rendering etc
