Ive been wanting to get the Echo Layla 3G sound interface for a while now, but i found out Windows Media Center has problems running "pro" sound hardware often.

I would like to know if this card works with Windows Media Center as i cant find any info on this.

Can't speak for the Echo Layla 3G in particular, but the only problem I have with a USB DAC is that the volume gets limited automatically for some reason, so to get full volume out of it I have to turn down the volume (in Windows) and then turn it back up and the ceiling magically disappears. (Using Vista Ultimate) As long as you choose the Layla as the sound card you want to use in the Sounds/Audio Devices CP, you should be fine....

EDIT:Did some reading.If you are worried about using this on Vista with Media Center, seems that they link totally revamped their Vista drivers and ASIO support. They also put out a driver for XP back in Oct, so even that one isn't too old. The readme of the drivers also mentions that they fixed the particular problem that I had with my card so no worries with that. Hope this helps.

Oops, sorry, forgot to mention Windows XP Media Center, but many thanks for the help.

I also did some more searching and i found someone saying on a forum this card works fine on his XP Media Center, so i assume it should all be right.

Also seeing the drivers still getting updated gives me good hope. But its a problem with how XP Media Center works, so im not sure about this all.

Although i cant find what exactly is the problem.

I dont know if this also counts for the Layla, but the list is not complete and it shows similar hardware. If this is indeed problem with XP Media Center i will have to get Windows XP Home as it works on that OS very well.

I will maybe also soon check how the Emu 0404 PCI from other pc (wich is on the list) works on this pc and hope all will work fine.
