I have this 4.1 surround DVD-A (MLP) which i am trying to backup as FLAC. The channels info for the MLP is as follows:
Group1: Lf, Rf Group2: LFE, Ls, Rs

I noticed in the FLAC format description that 5ch is listed in the following order:
5 channels: left, right, center, back/surround left, back/surround right

Does that mean 4.1 (LFE instead of Center) isn't supported?
Thank you

Yep, 4.1 isn't supported by Flac.

You can add a empty Center channel and encode like the standard 5.1.
With a empty channel the size of the flac 5.1 is near the 4.1 desired.
