(I don't see a software forum so I'm gonna ask this here)

Right now I'm using the program Audio Identifier 0.7.1 to check my music downloads. It doesn't seem to be able to detect files inside a folder that's inside a folder, so i can't browse my entire music library at once. Is there a way to make this work, or another program that works better? This would be a great time saver to find any transcodes i might have.

thanx biggrin.gif

Please see this thread regarding Audio Identifier's dubious beginnings. I will not support it.

I would recommend Mr QuestionMan. In the settings there is a recursive scanning checkbox; however, I find it best to leave that off, and hold down Ctrl when selecting a folder to only search recursively when you want to (to keep things fast). MQM will search more than one folder deep.

Regarding ABX: please read the ABX wiki article.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't know about this until now, that's what I get for not reading tooltips. I think it works differently than how you explain it though, if you tick the recursive scanning checkbox, you can temporarily disable it by holding Ctrl when selecting a folder.

I guess it must do both; it definately works for me. I would say that Ctrl just switches the default setting (resursive > non-recursive // non-recursive > recursive).

IIRC had trouble accidentally searching large folders, so I prefer to only look recursively when I really want/mean to.

OK, I must be doing something wrong because I can't get it to work like you describe. This is going to drive me nuts for a while until I figure it out sad.gif
