Ladies and gents... i have a quick question as after searching for quite a bit i haven't been able to find a solution. As limited as foobars media library options are I can live with most of them except for 2 things. Saving ratings into the mp3 files themselves as well as the art (i'm more picky on the rating than the art though). What plugins can I use to embed each type into my mp3 files directly? Playcount would also be a nice thing to write directly to the file.

No plugins needed. If you want to create a new tag, just open the File Properties window and choose "Add New Field" in context menu. For more comfort you also can add the field name in Preferences > Advanced so that it is shown with a more friendly name. To quickly set tags to a small set of values (esp. for ratings, foo_quicktag offers the possibility to assign keyboard shortcuts).

Use foo_playback_custom instead of foo_playcount.
