Hello,
I am looking to buy the RCA RS2130i 5-disk changer shelf-stereo system, i think it has great sound and everything. THe only thing im concerned about is that the 5-disk changer seems really fragile and thin compared to a robust 1-disk player system. Is it a common problem that the 5-disk changer breaks down easily and is more prone to problems? If this is not a significantly probelm then i will go for the RCA RS2130i. Thanks
I've got an ARCAM. I don't think they make the one I've got any more any more, but it is from a small specialist hi-fi company, although mine is not a particularly high-range model. There's no multi-changer with mine, and yet one could get a multichanger with stuff that sells far far cheaper. That suggests to me it's not an important feature and may have downsides. But I've never actually heard of any problems. I certainly don't see it as an important feature these days, because CDs are, after all, on the way out (albeit slowly) and anyone who often wanted to play several albums in succession would probably find it easier to store them as music files and stream them from a desktop or laptop to the amplifier.
